Scholarships
MOTAG in past had proudly administers two memorial scholarship funds dedicated to young men and women who will shape the future of forestry and mill operations. This is something we are hoping to bring back in near future.
James A. Holekamp Memorial Scholarship
Established in 1983 following the passing of Jim Holekamp, the founding Program Coordinator of MOTAG South. Under Jim's direction the organization grew from fifteen to nearly two hundred attendees. This scholarship honors his dedication and is awarded to deserving students who will formulate and activate the future forestry practices and their means of utilization for tomorrow.
Charles S. Gardner Scholarship Fund
Established in August 1989, spearheaded by Sun Machinery following the sudden passing of Charlie Gardner. Charlie served as Program Coordinator from 1983 until 1987 and carried on Jim Holekamp's legacy with great dedication. This fund honors his memory and contributions to the organization.
